Luc 19:41-47
In illo témpore: Cum appropinquáret Iesus Ierúsalem, videns civitátem, flevit super illam, dicens: Quia si cognovísses et tu, et quidem in hac die tua, quæ ad pacem tibi, nunc autem abscóndita sunt ab óculis tuis. Quia vénient dies in te: et circúmdabunt te inimíci tui vallo, et circúmdabunt te: et coangustábunt te úndique: et ad terram prostérnent te, et fílios tuos, qui in te sunt, et non relínquent in te lápidem super lápidem: eo quod non cognóveris tempus visitatiónis tuæ. Et ingréssus in templum, cœpit eiícere vendéntes in illo et eméntes, dicens illis: Scriptum est: Quia domus mea domus oratiónis est. Vos autem fecístis illam speluncam latrónum. Et erat docens cotídie in templo.

At that time, when Jesus drew near to Jerusalem and saw the city, He wept over it, saying, If you had known, in this your day, even you, the things that are for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will throw up a rampart about you, and surround you and shut you in on every side, and will dash you to the ground and your children within you, and will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you have not known the time of your visitation. And He entered the temple, and began to cast out those who were selling and buying in it, saying to them, It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of thieves. And He was teaching daily in the temple.

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
1 Cor 10:6-13
Fratelli: Non bramiamo le cose cattive che quelli desiderarono. Né siate idolatri, come alcuni di loro, dei quali è stato scritto: Il popolo si assise per mangiare e bere, e si alzò per tripudiare. Né fornichiamo, come fecero alcuni di loro, cosí che nello stesso giorno ne caddero ventitremila. Non tentiamo il Cristo, come alcuni di loro lo tentarono, e perirono per mezzo dei serpenti. Non mormorate, come mormorarono alcuni di essi, e perirono per mezzo dello sterminatore. Tutte queste cose accaddero loro per servire da esempio, e sono state scritte per mettere in guardia noi, che siamo venuti alla fine dei tempi. Cosí, chi pensa di star dritto, veda di non cadere. Non vi è mai sopraggiunta alcuna tentazione maggiore delle vostre forze: Dio è fedele, e non vorrà che voi siate tentati al di sopra delle vostre forze, ma, insieme alla tentazione, darà il mezzo perché possiate vincerla.

In quel tempo: Essendo Gesú giunto vicino a Gerusalemme, scorgendo la città, pianse su di essa, dicendo: Oh! se in questo giorno avessi conosciuto anche tu quello che occorreva per la tua pace! Ma tutto ciò è ormai nascosto ai tuoi occhi. Perciò per te verranno giorni in cui i tuoi nemici ti circonderanno con trincee, ti assedieranno e ti angustieranno da ogni parte; e getteranno a terra te e i tuoi figli che abitano in te, e non lasceranno in te pietra su pietra, poiché non hai conosciuto il tempo in cui sei stata visitata. Entrato poi nel tempio, cominciò a cacciare quanti lí dentro vendevano e compravano, dicendo loro: Sta scritto: La mia casa è casa di preghiera. Voi invece ne avete fatta una spelonca di ladri. E ogni giorno insegnava nel tempio.
Gesu’ giunge vicino a Gerusalemme e si commuove vedendola:” se anche tu avessi riconosciuto il messaggio di pace!”. Parla quindi della futura distruzione di Gerusalemme.
Gesu’ entra quindi nel Tempio e caccia i mercanti.
E’ il brano del Vangelo in cui Gesu’ piange su Gerusalemme. Ma il pianto non riguarda solo Gerusalemme, ma anche la Chiesa dei nostri giorni! Come uomo Gesu’ soffre e piange!
Non hai riconosciuto il messaggio di pace, ne il Figlio di Dio! Non hai riconosciuto il tempo della mia visita! Ma Gesu’ e’ stato presente con noi ogni giorno!
Alcuni di noi non hanno fatto tesoro delle comunioni svolte ogni giorno! E qualcuno di noi ha negato la presenza continua di Gesu’ durante la Messa! Ha nuditato nelle parole del Vangelo!
E adesso verranno questi mali e la punizione divina!
San Paolo ci dice che la Bibbia e’ stata scritta anche per noi! Quanta grazia di Dio, quanti esempi di santita’, abbiamo ricevuto?
Il popolo eletto e’ stato privilegiato ma nel deserto si e’ perso nelle tentazioni sataniche. Non torniamo a compiere gli stessi errori! Piu’ siamo privilegiati, piu’ siamo responsabili di fronte al Signore!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Jesus arrives near Jerusalem and is moved to see it :” if you too had recognized the message of peace!”. He then speaks of the future destruction of Jerusalem.
Jesus then enters the Temple and drives out the merchants.
It is the passage of the Gospel in which Jesus weeps over Jerusalem. But the weeping does not only concern Jerusalem, but also the Church of our day! As a man Jesus suffers and cries!
You did not recognize the message of peace, nor the Son of God! You did not recognize the time of my visit! But Jesus was present with us every day!
Some of us have not treasured the communions performed every day! And some of us have denied the continuous presence of Jesus during Mass! He naked in the words of the Gospel!
And now these evils and divine punishment will come!
St. Paul tells us that the Bible was written for us too! How much grace of God, how many examples of holiness, have we received?
The chosen people were privileged but in the desert they got lost in satanic temptations. Let’s not make the same mistakes again! The more privileged we are, the more responsible we are to the Lord!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
