Luc 10:38-42
In illo témpore: Intrávit Iesus in quoddam castéllum: et múlier quædam, Martha nómine, excépit illum in domum suam: et huic erat soror nómine María, quæ étiam sedens secus pedes Dómini, audiébat verbum illíus. Martha autem satagébat circa frequens ministérium: quæ stetit et ait: Dómine, non est tibi curæ, quod soror mea réliquit me solam ministráre? dic ergo illi, ut me ádiuvet. Et respóndens, dixit illi Dóminus: Martha, Martha, sollícita es et turbáris erga plúrima: porro unum est necessárium. María óptimam partem elégit, quæ non auferétur ab ea.

At that time, Jesus entered a certain village; and a woman named Martha welcome Him to her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also seated herself at the Lord’s feet, and listened to His word. But Martha was busy about much serving. Ad she came up and said, Lord, is it not concern of Yours that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her therefore to help me. But the Lord answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; and yet only one thing is needful. Mary has chosen the best part, and it will not be taken away from her.

DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**,1)
2 Cor 10:17-18; 11, 1-2.
Fratelli, «chi si vanta, si vanti nel Signore»: poiché non chi si raccomanda da sé è approvato, bensì colui che il Signore raccomanda. Vorrei che voi sopportaste un po’ di stoltezza da parte mia. Ma si, sopportatemi; poiché sono geloso di voi, della gelosia di Dio, avendovi fidanzati ad un solo sposo, come vergine casta da presentare a Cristo.

In quel tempo, Gesù entrò in un villaggio e una donna, chiamata Marta, lo ricevette in casa sua. E questa aveva una sorella di nome Maria, la quale, postasi a sedere ai piedi del Signore, ne ascoltava la parola. Marta intanto si affannava tra le molte faccende di casa. Fermatasi poi disse: «Signore, non ti importa che mia sorella mi lasci sola a preparare? Dille dunque che mi aiuti». Ma il Signore le rispose: «Marta, Marta, ti affanni ed inquieti per troppe cose. Eppure una sola è necessaria! Maria si è scelta la parte migliore, che non le sarà tolta».
Oggi e’ la festa di S. Marta sorella di Maria Maddalena e Lazzaro. Si tratta di una famiglia cristiana.
Gesu’ rimprovera (forse benevolmente) Marta che preoccupa di servire gli ospiti ma trascura la preghiera e l’ascolto del Signore. Tuttavia si tratta dell’eresia del fare che e’ sempre in agguato, specialmente nel nostro tempo! Si tratta infatti di due scelte possibili: la consacrazione per la preghiera al Signore e il volontariato. Ora la falsa chiesa e’ contro gli ordini religiosi e quindi contro la preghiera dei consacrati.
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Brethren: He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord. For he is not approved who commends himself, but he whom the Lord commends. Would to God that you could bear with a little of my foolishness! Nay, do bear with me! For I am jealous for you with a divine jealousy. For I betrothed you to one spouse, that I might present you a chaste virgin to Christ.

Today is the feast of St. Martha sister of Mary Magdalene and Lazarus. It is a Christian family.
Jesus reproaches (perhaps benevolently) Martha who is concerned with serving the guests but neglects prayer and listening to the Lord. However, it is the heresy of doing that is always lurking, especially in our time! In fact, there are two possible choices: consecration for prayer to the Lord and voluntary service. Now the false church is against religious orders and therefore against the prayer of the consecrated
